We'd been emailing back and forth with the Los Angeles Parks Foundation for a couple years, talking about a grove of orange trees tucked into Franklin Canyon. This year Sqirl finally got its hands on some Navels from this hidden gem.
The LAPF maintains the grove, and oversees the dispersal of its citrus treasures to local food banks, school lunches, and other community distribution centers.
It's been around since 1938 and is now one of the last remaining groves in Los Angeles, so we're donating a portion of proceeds from these jars right back to the upkeep of this beautifully communal plot.
All we've added to the splendor of this fruit is a rose petal infusion that gives you that walking through the garden in spring time feel.
